Why Stage?

Staging is a smart investment, whether you are a homeowner, realtor or investor. Staging is an essential element of marketing a property, regardless of the market conditions. Industry studies repeatedly show that the fee for this service is recouped by a higher sales price and less time spent on the market. Professionally staged homes spend 67% less time on the market and sell for an average of 3% more than homes that have not been staged.

People buy with emotion. Buyers make a decision about whether or not they like a house within the first moments of being inside it. This is a short and critical window to make an excellent impression. However, walking in the door won’t necessarily be their first impression. According to the National Association of Realtors, over 90% of all buyers start their search on the Internet, looking at online photos. If the photos aren’t appealing the buyer will simply click to the next listing, giving you one less opportunity to sell your home.

Let's talk about staging myths.

MYTH: I CAN STAGE MY OWN HOME.

In reality, it is very difficult for homeowners to look at their own house with an objective eye. Asking a professional stager to evaluate your home will allow you to gain valuable insight as to what buyers will be focusing on in your home: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

MYTH: DECORATING AND STAGING ARE NEARLY THE SAME THING.

This is a common misconception. Decorating and staging couldn't be more opposite from one another. Decorating infuses the homeowner's personal taste and style into the house. Staging involves taking one's personality out of the home to create a wider appeal to a broad range of buyers.

MYTH: STAGING IS MOSTLY FOR VACANT HOMES.

Most homes on the market will benefit from home staging, whether its a brand new vacant home or a lived-in home. While we do stage vacant homes, much of our work is focused on occupied homes. Why? Because occupied homes are generally not set up for optimal visual marketing.
